Updates

Got this from the puppies caretaker in NC today:
I did pick up the last 2 pups Friday and I have all 7.
Saturday morning when I went out to feed and medicate 4 pups had come down with severe bronchitis and were pretty sick.
At this point all but 1 female were eating well.
I took her in to the vet and she has infection in upper and lower lobes of her lungs with fever of about 103.5.
They have all been put on Doxycycline and cephalicxin , and off Amoxicillin which is what some of the pups were sent home with.

I really worried over the female all day she just laid around and wound not eat. This morning however they are all feeling much better and although the female is still very congested she is eating again.
I am being very careful with these pups, it was the right thing to cancel the trip, we would have had some dead pups.
These poor little guys have really been through the ringer. I feel real good about things today.
I have gathered a lot of dry puppy food (donations) all good food, IAMS, Science diet, Purina One (This is what I am feeding, there tummies are very sensitive) We get much of our stuff from Petsmart but we can shopat Target or Wal-Mart too if that makes it easy. I am free feeding dryfood and every morning it is gone.

I feel good about things, I do not think they will go back into the hospital. So don't worry about this last step backwards, Dr. Hubbard at 10th street said it happens with Parvo. She said if they are all better at end of week she would give them a clean bill of health. I will keep this pups as long as needed. I am here for the duration.
I can travel my leg of the journey on the 17th or 24th which ever works. Just add me in and let me know. They are so pitifully sweet. I am taking some picture so you can see where they are and at the end of the week I will update the pictures. I hope it works out that I can send them later today.
As far as canceling I do apologize but please keep in mind it is all about these pups, we are trying to save them and this will be a very traumatic trip for them. they will be more ready as time moves on.

We are having rain move in Tuesday, I am going to configure something to make sure they don't get wet, but it is cold. They are on an upswing. Please hang with them, they have been through so much. I want you to receive healthy pups.

So we wait....and GOD BLESS MARGARET FOR saving our Lucky Seven!
